I've been making websites and doing business on the internet for over four years now. It's been a learning curve from the very start. I didn't start out as a marketer. My first introduction was through learning to make websites so that I could be a liason between my department on the local university and a computer company that was developing an online database for us and putting it up on the web for some classes being taught on campus. None of us knew anything about the internet and developing websites. I was the one chosen to learn the lingo so that communications between our committee and the computer company would proceed smoothly. This was my humble beginning.
The first website of my very own was an informational website revolving around my hobby and private research with growing grapes. Not too surprising considering my educational backround. This website was Rist Canyon Vineyards, a private research project studying growing grapes under the marginal growing conditions of the Colorado foothills.
It was through my Rist Canyon Vineyards site that I learned the basics of web design and then expanded upon what I had learned. Looking back on things, design is good for an informational site but has to be thrown out the window when it comes to selling products online. Ristvin Marketing has developed out of my need to fund my research. Over the years, it has grown and evolved as I learned more and more about marketing and advertising on the internet. But looking back, I would do it all differently now as selling has become the center of my internet activities.
Ristvin Marketing has given me the opportunity to explore various marketing concepts online that the web has to offer. I have learned a lot about marketing and selling products via the internet over the past few years. It has finally paid off after three years of trying to market informational and affiliate products through my website. I've learned that the best way to make money online is to create my own products. You to can create your own niche in an ever expanding internet market.
I'm not an internet marketing guru. The fact is that I live in a small homemade log cabin in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I'm a one man show. I'm constantly learning new techniques to write better copy ads and market my products. I'm constantly testing and tracking my ad campaigns and fine tuning them to be more effective. It's been hard work with long hours to learn what it takes to run a business online. It sure hasn't been the get rich on the internet that so many people are advertising.
Most of what I sell is not on this page, but in the backend of this website. This homepage is meant to explain to you what my business is. Much of what you will find on the following pages are concepts and products that I have learned and use in my marketing business. This business is a result of needing funding for my research vineyard but it has gone well beyond that over the years. I now have multiple websites online that specialize in areas of marketing that I have carved niches in.
